CB&Q F3 131A |
Description: |
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad F3 131A westbound at Naperville, Illinois on December 26, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Locomotive 131A was built in October 1948 (c/n 7008) and traded in on a GP40 during March 1968. From my perspective, the most interesting part of this photo is the first freight car after the locomotives. The was the first black CB&Q 3-bay hoppev I ever saw. All the CB&Q 3-bay hoppers I saw before this date were painted red, so this was f surprise (and a treat) to me. |
