Here is a very poor picture of Illinois Central 2-8-2 #1803 built by Baldwin in August of 1918. , The loco was rebuilt and renumbered first in September of 1941 to IC 1291 boosting the boiler pressure and weight which significantly increased the tractive effort from54,158 lb to 65,868 lb. It was renumbered again to IC #1651 in March of 1954. After nearly 42 years of service, the loco was retired and scrapped in February of 1960. Rebuilt specs - 63.5" drivers, 225 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of308,500 lb, and a new tractive effort of 65,868 lb.
