PRR 9663, EF-15A, 1965 |
Description: |
Spruce Creek. Here is the sixth of eight successive photos that I took in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9663 and six more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #9663 is an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in EF-15A built in February of 1950 and retired in July of 1966 after just 16 years of revenue service. In this context, they're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train out of Enola to Altoona and points West. Note that my pet dog "Millie" is safely ensconced in the weeds at the far left. |
