Southbound Manifest With UP 7878 Ex-MP SD40-2 Leading  Contributor's Pick!
It's been a long time since I'd gotten to see an ex-MP Non-Dynamic Brake Equipped SD40-2 leading a train. I finally got to see one again today. UP 7878 was built as MP 3309 in December 1979 with a Builder's Number of 796308-8. This combination of motive power made one heck of a racket. This unit was actually retired in 2001, and then reactivated in 2003.

David Mead General This is a fine study and all the locos are centre on the frame. I like seeing the exhaust as it adds life to the scene. It was good to have the yellow UP on the front as otherwise it would break the uniformity of the other varying blue/gray liveries. 4/22/2007 5:49:32 PM
Mark Herren General cool combo of power!! 4/23/2007 1:45:00 AM
