Here is a photo by Don Christenson that was taken near McCook, Illinois, on 13 December 1969. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8755 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #8755 is a BS-12 switcher built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in August of 1952, rated at 1,200 horsepower, and retired in October of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. Looks to me like they're headed to the Recycling Center. ("GTC-Collectibles"; #5 of 5) |
