This powerful 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive started out as Wabash 2-10-2 #2517. It was built by ALCo-Brooks in July of 1917 (serial #57569). Wabash handed over the loco to the middleman Georgia Car & Loco Company who brokered a deal for the sale to Chicago & Illinois Midland on February 12, 1942. The loco was officially retired in May of 1955 and scrapped. Specs - G-4 class, 64" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 29x32" cylinders, engine weight of 395,000 lb, tractive effort of 75,079 lb.
