Freshly-rebuilt Southern Pacific C630 3142 and RSD12 2956 were on an eastbound transfer run operating over the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad at the Walnut Street grade crossing. The train was on its way from the Espee’s AVONDALE YARD, at the west end of the Huey P. Long Bridge, to the NOPB’s COTTON WAREHOUSE YARD. Cotton Belt caboose 19 was on the rear of the train.
