SFM. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Cove, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6753, an M-1B built in Juniata as an M-1A during May of 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in November of 1948, and retired in February of 1958 after 28 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling a mixed-cargo freight train out of Enola under the four-track Watering Point to Altoona and points West. |
