Those were the days!! Guilford had cast off the D&H, after taking everything it thought useful, the 1976 order of GP 39-2's prime among them, and it wound up being operated by the NYSW under directed service. CSX and NS stepped up to provide power, though the CSX power ran through commonly to Binghamton. The NS C30-7's here were part of a pool of NS GE's that was more or less captive to the D&H during the directed service era, and showed up on everything from PYRP, seen here, to stack trains, of which D&H ran a dozen or so every week at the time. Good historic shot.
