Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken near Detroit, Michigan, on 20 May 1961. Photo Caption: "FM CFA20-64, PRR #9471. Detroit, Michigan. 5-20-61." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9471, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in March of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in March of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Fairbanks-Morse and Lima Diesels ~ Eastern and Canadian Roads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (902-40). |
