| Here is a postal card entitled "General View, Juniata Shops, P.R.R., Altoona, Pa." No Postmark. Among other things, the Juniata Shops produced 4,584 steam and electric locomotives in the 55 years from the time they first opened in July of 1891 until they ceased production in June of 1946. That's Chestnut Avenue in the foreground, while portions of the Altoona Yards are visible behind the Shop buildings. Produced and distributed by I. & M. Ottenheimer of Baltimore, Maryland, c. 1917. |
