These track scenes were taken during a 2 hour period between a eastbound mainfest train and a westbound empty coal train from a hiking trail in Marylands Patapsco Valley State Park. I rather like track and signals. Here the newest track management techniques with well gromed ballast, welded rail and the last vestages of a wired signal system show both the old and new of railroading. Most of this old wire along parts of the old B&O in this area have been taken down. The track oiler near MP21.5 was solar powered negating the need for the High Voltage. The near track is the main line and the further track is 9200 foot Davis Siding. /DL |
