You can barely see it but on the left corner of the photo is a semi driver's front bumper on his rig. As he started to cross the tracks the lights started flashing and the driver panicked and instead of continuing across he stops and backs up which resulted in him knocking the crossing arm down right in front of me. I called the BNSF Signal Deskto report it and as I did the driver decides to leave the scene. I explained to the Signal Desk what had happened and gave him the location and advised that there was a southbound about to head toward the crossing and that Dispatch needed to be notified to let the crew know to stop and flag the crossing per rule 6.32 of the General Code of Operating Rules. |
