EBT. Here is an original photo that I took of an East Broad Top Railroad locomotive at Colgate Grove, Pennsylvania, on 30 August 1961. Shown here is EBT steam engine #14, a 2-8-2 narrow-gauge locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during October of 1912. After departing Orbisonia and arriving at Colgate Grove, the locomotive and train crews stropped the train for a few minutes before turning the train around at the Colgate Grove wye for the return journey to Orbisonia. Pictured here is the locomotive's engineer as he backs the train around the far leg of the wye to complete the turn-around process. |
