| UP 5917 appearing again a half-hour later now as were out exploring Valley Junction and the large multi-wye/diamond (no one would believe it would exist in real life: a wye on every leg of a diamond so it looks like a giant symmetric box under suction (pulling in the sides - the arcing turn-out-to-turn-out points/switches that would permit every direction to be a reversing leg on all four tracks. The right divergent switch to the UPs current track is closer to the photographer & arches on the far side of the local Valley Junction silo (putting it in the middle of the curving track off to the right); easier to see than describe - my shotgun rider suggested drone picture... all well and good, except the breeze through this section of Texas seems to blow at a healthy 50 knots non-stop... unless the wind starts blowing, then its harder. So pick your favorite map site and view it from above - its Valley Junction, Texas, between Gause, TX and Hearne, TX. ). |
