| After being on display at Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, a special Amtrak train hauled the Swedish X2000 (also known as X2) trainset to the next stop on its tour of the U.S., as the train departed for Phoenix, Arizona. These trains, constructed by Kalmar Verkstad in Kalmar, Sweden, operated on Sweden's Statens Järnvägar (Swedish State Railways), feature tilting technology for high speed operation. Wearing temporary Amtrak markings, Statens Järnvägar control car 2511 brings up the rear of the special as it heads east on the SP's old Sunset Line. |
