UP #1429 PACIFIC OCEAN         
Pair of former UP 10 roomette-6 double bedroom (10RM-6DB) sleepers operating on the Northeast Corridor at Frankford Junction. Both these cars were built by Budd in 1949-1950 in Lot #9660-039 to Pullman Plan #9522; the #1429 PACIFIC OCEAN was built in March 1950, was sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #2622, was converted to head end power (HEP) in 1980 as #2437, was retired in 2001 and sold to Illinois Transit Assembly (ITAX), which used it as a parts source; at last check, the PACIFIC OCEAN was still at the former ITAX, now Gateway Coach, facility in Madison, IL. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Ektachrome 35mm slide. Date is approximate. Photographer is unknown.
