On Veterans Day 2014, I caught a rather patriotic looking move on CSXs New Castle Subdivision. CSX #2200 (Road Slug) and CSX #6406 (GP40-2) led W009 east through Lowellville, Ohio at 12:40pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 with two red, white, and blue painted cars belonging to the Federal Railroad Administration. The baggage car is DOTX 223, followed by DOTX 219, the Federal Railroad Administrations Office of Safety. Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have gathered about DOTX 223, it was originally built as a troop car for the Army, wearing US Army 89630. It was then rebuilt and went to Amtrak as AMTK 1360. It wore DRCX 1360 before being painted as it is today. |
