Poised outside one of the shop areas around Columbus, Ohio, is Altoona built (5/1924) K4s Pacific. Photographer C.W. Burns notes on the back - "The 1 K-4 that had roller brgs on all loco wheels and lite wt roller brg rods & Xheads" According to the Altoona shop records, this loco was eventually scrapped in February of 1950. Specs - 80" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 304,500 lb, and tractive effort of 44,460 lb. The date in 1937 is approximate.
