NS ES44AC 8029 and 8099, the Southern Railway heritage unit pushing a loaded coal train over Davy-Roderfield Road just outside of downtown Welch, WV. This somewhat unique highway underpass has two sets of lanes, which are both being used in this photo. The one on the left is used by higher vehicles like trucks and trailers, and the one on the right is used by cars and small trucks. Usually the only thing green in this photo is the kudzu which has taken over the hillside in the background, but today the Southern heritage unit adds some color. |
