An unknown northbound train makes a stop at Ripley. Today, you could not recognize this location. The track that the train is on is the former northbound main and today is the only main. The track on the left is the former southbound main, it was removed in the early 1990's when the IC single tracked the Fulton District. The depot and the building behind it are also gone and there is a big scrap yard that covers all the railroad property here on that side of the main. The last passenger train to stop here was the Louisiane in 1967. Photo date is approx. From the collection of Fred Goff. |
