| CSS&SB Pullman built 14 at Randolph Street Station, Chicago, Illinois, February 1982, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Number 14 was built by Pullman Car and Manufacturing Company in 1926. It was rebuilt in 1942 along with number 15, the beginning of a rebuilding program that encompassed 33 cars (I believe). The rebuilding process added 17 feet to the middle of what was a 60 foot car. Some of the later rebuilt cars also received air-conditioning and sealed picture windows. |
