| It's 6 P.M. and a Southern Railway yard crew has just delivered train No. 54 to the KCS at Labarre Road in Metairie. The train originated at the L&N's Gentilly Yard, and the Southern handled it from L&N Jct. to here. The Southern crew will get on KCS No. 55, which is right behind the photographer, and bring it to their Oliver Yard. Today's 54 has GP40-2 797, F7B slug 4076, and GP38-2 4002 with 112 cars and 5,895 tons. |
