This is actually classified as a CS9. Unit is former Grand Trunk 1002, a former ALCO switcher repowered with a Cat diesel.

This was built as GTW 8199 by ALCO in 1956. Rebuilt in 1980 as CS-9 (listed in Rebuilt) # 1002. Serial # is 81976.

Was this unit still in Grand Trunk colors in 1996? I remember seeing an Alco switcher running on (LNAC?) tracks behind the former Best Western inn, just north of the I-64 interchange. What is the status of this unit?
