That's an old HLCX unit, painted in primer, go ahead and put that into the database as CSX 6296, since that's what it is.

That can't be a CSX engine, 6296 is a GP40-2 on the CSX Roster. Its an HLCX engine in the old Oneida & Western green paint.

Well not sure about the O&W heritage, but definitely not CSX

HLCX 6296 is ex BN 7085. Its short-term lease extension expired in Dec-1996 and it was returned to Helm Financial, along with three other units - BN 7086, 7094, 7096 respectively. All four were painted in a lime green shade of primer.

Thanks for the Info. It is similar to a faded O&W unit, but they were all repainted into BCOL. But why the CSXT style renumber?

I saw this same unit go through Folkston during Feburary of this year and I can assure you that she didn't have any kind of patch when she rolled through.

Ive seen some HLCX units that have been painted a blue color similar to the patch color, not sure why they chose yellow numbers, maybe because the nasty green paint?

Woah, it's about a year too late, but I just noticed I said put it in as CSX, lol, meant HLCX but ya got it squared away, I'm 11 months too slow!
