Description:  There are hopper cars being accumulated along the line in anticipation of re-opening the Tahawus mines. The tailings pile up at Tahawus is apparently pretty good aggregate for asphalt, and we could soon be seeing unit hopper trains traversing this line once again.

Description:  Both SNC dome cars were on the train this day, providing a great view of the Hudson River and Adirondack Mountains. After seeing service on Auto Train and NYS&W, both cars were acquired by Westours for service on the McKinley Explorer excursion trains in Alaska.
