Description:
Amtrak 2987, named PINE SHORE, at Polk Street in Chicago, Illinois on October 13, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 2987 was built by Budd in 1950 as AT&SF 1643, a 10 Roomette 6 Bedroom (10-6) sleeper with the same name, became AMTK 2732, upon conversion to HEP in February 1978 was renumbered to 2987, became a bedroom dormitory car in September 1998 and was renumbered to 2518, retired October 2006.
