Description:
CRI&P F9M 4151, Howe, Oklahoma, sometime in 1976, Kodachrome by Steve Laser, Chuck Zeiler collection. Built in October 1947 as UP F3 1406A (c/n 4611) on EMD Order E818A, later renumbered 1406, and later still renumbered 1517. It was rebuilt by EMD in May 1958 to UP F9M 507, retaining most of its F3 carbody (note, however, the F9 style vertical intake louvers). It was sold to the Rock Island in February 1972, becoming 4151, and traded to EMD in July 1976.
