The East Providence Branch |
Description: |
This is where it all begins for the East Providence Branch. The Branch comes from the Providence and Worcester main line by the Valley Falls engine house. The Wrentham Branch swings off the East Providence and is used for storage. At one time this junction was configured where the Wrentham came into the main. Trains would have to back on the Wrentham, then pull onto the East Providence |

The Old Peoples Coal Lead |
Description: |
The long unused Peoples Coal siding. I see evidence of possibly 2 tracks going into Peoples. This was also the location of the engine house before it was moved. With part of the foundation showing on the left, it straddled both tracks with enough room for 1 locomotive on each track, plus a caboose. The blue caboose, 2116 was stored inside on the old Peoples track until it was moved to Worcester. Signal box for the Mill Street crossing - there's a switching diode and lightning arrester inside |
