ICG 100566
Title:  ICG 100566
Description:  ICG boom car 100566 and crane 100408 were at  derailment on an industrial spur along South Dupree Street, near New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. The crane was built by the Industrial Works of Bay City, Michigan in August 1918 as Illindis Central X-99, and was subsequently IC X-111 before becoming ICG 100408.

Title:  L&N 42345
Description:  L&N work car 42345 was part of the railroad's MOBILE WRECKER. The work train was in New Orleans to rerail a pair of SP GP35's and an L&N hopper car which had derailed near the Franklin Avenue overpass. The locomotive was GP30 1013.

L&N crane 40024
Title:  L&N crane 40024
Description:  The L&N's MOBILE WRECKER was attending to the derailment of SP GP35's 6599 and 6669 on an L&N-SP run-though train just west of the Franklin Avenue underpass in New Orleans. The 200-ton crane was L&N 40024, built by Orton in January 1968. It spent its entire life based in Mobile, and was retired by the CSX as SBD 740024 in October 1992. The boom car was the 41915 and the baggage car was the 41032.

L&N Crane 40024
Title:  L&N Crane 40024
Description:  The L&N's MOBILE WRECKER had just arrived in New Orleans to help rerail SP GP35's 6599 and 6669, along with L&N hopper car 184876. The derailed equipment had been on an L&N-SP run-through train, and the accident took place at the west (railroad south) end of the Franklin Avenue underpass. The crane was L&N 40024, a 200-ton Orton built in January 1968. It spent its entire life based in Mobile, and was retired by the CSX as SBD 740024 in October 1992. The equipment on the other side of the crane was boom car 41915, baggage car 41032, coach 42345, and GP30 1013.

ICG crane 100408
Title:  ICG crane 100408
Description:  Former Illinois Central Gulf 100408 was owned by the Louisiana Railway Heritage Trust when it was photographed in a suburb of New Orleans. The 120-ton crane was Industrial Works serial no. 3532 and had been built at Bay City, Michigan in 1918 as Illinois Central X-111. It was converted to diesel power in May 1955, was renumbered ICG 100408 after 1972 and was donated to the LRHT after it was retired.
