AN yard, Chattahoochee.
Title:  AN yard, Chattahoochee.
Description:  Coming in at nearly 2 miles long, the very lengthy AN yard in Chattahoochee was a staging area for Seminole electric coal trains off AN and the rest of ANs traffic from Port St. Joe and the rest of the railroad. In more recent years, prior to CSX selling the railroad- CSX would stage trains here, switch and change crews here. This yard was favored much more than the CSX yard at river junction.

Stop sign on the river junction lead.
Title:  Stop sign on the river junction lead.
Description:  FGAR has to have permission to enter ANs yard from both ends for interchange. Today, this portion isnt used as the north end of the yard is where they enter to bring in or take interchange. CSX used this very lead for a long time to bring trains into and out of they yard for crew changes and what not as holding them on the main was not always possible.

Personal favorite: Mississippian Railway.
Title:  Personal favorite: Mississippian Railway.

Mississippian has three main customers, storage and port access. Mississippian interchanges with the BNSF Railway at Amory and usually operates tri weekly, Monday-Wednesday-Friday.

Idling.
Title:  Idling.
Description:  The Hospitality states railroad, Mississippian, operates this very well maintained GPR, formerly C&NW... The GP was face lifted with prime mover work, new traction motors and 40" wheels. I spoke to their conductor and he said the steam era building is falling apart and need a better building. Considering the co-ops spending and recent infrastructure upgrades to the railroad, I wouldnt be surprised if the building was eventually replaced.
