Viewing Album:  Southern Railway E-8's join the NJT fleet

Album Info:Former Southern Crescent E-8A's 4330(ex-SR 6914), 4331(ex-SR 6907), 4332 (ex-SR 6904), and 4333(ex-SR 6903) came to New Jersey in 1980 to join Conrail's contracted commuter operations for NJT. On Kuneç!­, ,980;;§Ka7sܤvhled 433°°"4331, and 4332 joined the ex-PRR, EL, and ICG E-8's, and an assortment of GG-1's at the South Amboy, NJ engine terminal. In March, 1982, 4331 and 4333 remained in their ex-Southern Crescent paint while waiting for assignment. The former PRR GG1's waited with pans up for another year and a half of assignments on the NY&LB, still in their grimy black paint. Also, ex-SR E-8A 6913 and ex-PC 4323 were no longer in their green and black predecessor schemes, but were now adorned in the gawdy NJ Transit white scheme. Mercifully, they were the only E-8A's to receive the white paint scheme.
