Here is the front side of an unused postal card entitled "Speed and Security." Shown here is a work of art called "Speed and Security" that was painted in 1924 by Harold M. Brett (1880–1955). It depicts the "Broadway Limited" passing over the Susquehanna River via the Rockville Bridge a few miles north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5357, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata in March of 1924 and retired in February of 1949 after 25 years' service. |
