Album Info:In November 2006 I moved to Rogers Ark, then six months later to Siloam Springs, on the Heavener Sub. Since then, I have taken a lot of photos on the KCS in my new home town. This album contains anything I took between Davidson Rd, MP 226.5, and Elm St, approximately MP 233.

Description:  A northbound empty TXUX train rolls past the pastures at Davidson Rd, north of Siloam. The H2 scheme has its appeal, but it really washes out in the sun. Much as I prefer the H 1 scheme, the Swoosh also is fairly photogenic.

Three for one

Description:  The dodger comes back from Cobb with a single car behind its three units, and unusual combioation of three GP 38-2's, two of them non dynamic brake. Makes for some overpowering, but there's more train to pick up from the siding, then head for Watts.

Description:  The surprise is not that there is one-unit grain trains almost always have one-but that its a BNSF Grinstein SD 70, a unit more typically found on coal trains. I like this scheme, so for me it was a bonus.

Description:  An 81 car northbound train of covered hoppers rolls toward Kansas City and more corn. The Belle scheme was making serious inroads to the fleet at this time, but most of the existing fleet was still gray. Seemed ever time I'd see a train with Belles, there would be a gray unit leading. It's only in the last two years or so that the AC44's have been getting repainted, while it seems most of the SD 70's have been done.
