CN 9515 and WC 15 Caboose at C&NW Oshkosh Depot
Title:  CN 9515 and WC 15 Caboose at C&NW Oshkosh Depot
Description:  A CN train parallels Broad St. and passes the depot as it heads north with four cars and a caboose via former C&NW rails at Oshkosh, WI, on 18 May '25. Consist included WC 15, the former AC 9602. The former C&NW depot was built by the Chicago firm of Clark & Fuller in 1884 at a cost $15,000. The depot was more ornate when it opened on 1 Dec. ’84, some of its interesting architectural elements have been removed over the years. The last passenger train, the Peninsula “400,” departed on 31 Jun. ’71. The depot is currently used by Clarity Care.

CN 9515
Title:  CN 9515
Description:  A CN train slows to pause at Harrison St. as it heads north with five cars and a caboose via former C&NW rails at Oshkosh, WI, on 18 May '25. Consist included WC 15, the former AC 9602. They stopped to throw the turnout (just out-of-frame to the right) to enter an industrial park on the north end of Oshkosh. I thought they were going to serve a customer, but it seems like they were just clearing the main line for an approaching south bound train. The CN main line transitions from the former C&NW rails to the former SOO rails here at Harrison St. Tower CF once stood out-of-frame to the right, where it guarded a diamond where a C&NW branch left their main line, crossed the SOO, and headed west. I wouldn't have shot them here if I knew they were going to stop to throw the turnout right in front of me. I don't like to be in their face.

CN 9515
Title:  CN 9515
Description:  A CN train momentarily fouls E. Snell Rd. as it heads northeast with five cars and a caboose via former SOO rails at Town of Oshkosh, Winnebago Co., WI, on 18 May '25. The current border between the City of Oshkosh and the Town of Oshkosh is ridiculously convoluted in this area. The current GIS suggests that 3/4 of the locomotive is in a pitiful scrap of the Town of Oshkosh, but the near right 1/4 might be in the City of Oshkosh. The train stopped to throw the turnout (out-of-frame to the left) to enter an industrial spur for a couple of customers. Of course I got to watch a fancy SUV catch a little air as it sped through the crossing as the gates were coming down.
